Gen'e
[?-1350] A Tendai Buddhist monk from Kyoto during the Nanboku-cho period. Character Nickname His first name was Kenso. His other name was Dokuseiken. He was well versed in Zen Buddhism and Song Buddhism, and served as a priest to Emperor Go-Daigo. Later, he was employed by Ashikaga Takauji and participated in the creation of the Kenmu Code. He is also said to be the author of the Taiheiki.

[?~1350]南北朝時代の天台宗の僧。京都の人。あざなは健叟。別号、独清軒。禅宗・宋学にも通じ、後醍醐天皇の侍読をつとめた。のち、足利尊氏に用いられ、建武式目制定に参画。「太平記」の作者ともいわれる。げんね。
