...a seedless fruit produced by parthenocarpy. Generally, fruit development proceeds in tandem with the development of the seeds, but the phenomenon in which only the fruit develops without the seeds is called parthenocarpy, and results in a seedless fruit.

... There is a close relationship between fruit formation and seed formation. If seeds do not form, the ovary will not grow large and will fall off. However, it is known that fruit, or seedless fruit, can form even if seeds do not form, in bananas, satsuma mandarins, persimmons, and other plants, and this phenomenon is called parthenocarpy. There are various causes of seedless fruit, including no pollination, pollination but no fertilization, and pollination and fertilization but underdeveloped ovules.
