Italian painter. Born in Alexandria, Egypt. In 1910, he founded the Futurist movement in Milan with Boccioni and Russolo, and produced works that incorporated a sense of movement in form and concepts of time into strict compositions and simple colors. He later encountered Chirico and moved on to metaphysical painting, but later switched to traditional figurative painting. イタリアの画家。エジプトのアレクサンドリア生れ。1910年ミラノでボッチョーニ，ルッソロらと未来派の運動を興して，きびしい構成と単純な色彩のうちに形態の運動感や時間の概念を盛り込んだ作品を発表。その後キリコと出会い形而上絵画に進んだが，のち伝統的具象絵画に転じた。《無政府主義者ガリの葬儀》（1910年―1911年）は未来派時代の代表作。
