Italian painter. Born in Alexandria, Egypt. In 1910, he founded the Futurist movement in Milan with Boccioni and Russolo, and produced works that incorporated a sense of movement in form and concepts of time into strict compositions and simple colors. He later encountered Chirico and moved on to metaphysical painting, but later switched to traditional figurative painting. "Funeral of the Anarchist Galli" (1910-1911) is a representative work of his Futurist period. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
