A military academy affiliated with the Beiyang warlords that existed in Baoding, Hebei Province, China from the late Qing to the early Republic of China. It was opened as Baoding Military Academy in 1906, expanding on Baoding Speed Building Military Preparation Academy, which was founded by Yuan Shikai in 1902 (28th year of the Guangxu era), and was renamed Baoding Military Academy after the Xinhai Revolution. It had five branches of the military: infantry, cavalry, artillery, engineering, and baggage. The course lasted one to two years, and included classes in various military studies, foreign languages, and military training. Over 5,000 students were enrolled between 1912 and 1917, including Chiang Kai-shek, and graduates included Zhang Jingyao, Ye Ting, Bai Chongxi, and Tang Shengzhi. 中国,清末から民国初期にかけて河北省保定市に存在した北洋軍閥系の軍官学校。袁世凱が1902年(光緒28)創立の保定速成武備学堂を発展させて,06年保定軍官学堂として開学し,辛亥革命後,保定軍官学校と改称した。歩・騎・砲・工・輜重(しちよう)の5兵科をもち,修学期間は1~2年で,各種軍事学,外国語などの授業と軍事訓練を行った。1912‐17年の入学者は5000名をこえ,蔣介石も入学し,卒業生の中には張敬尭,葉挺,白崇禧,唐生智らがいた。
