Iwai Hanshiro (5th generation)

Born: 1776 [Died] 1847 Kabuki actor. Stage name Yamatoya. Son of the 4th Iwai Hanshiro. Commonly known as Tojaku Hanshiro. In Bunka 1 (1804), he took the stage name of the 5th. He was beautiful and sexy, and was said to have eyes worth a thousand ryo. He was good at playing real-life dramas, and created the role of a wicked woman in the works of Tsuruya Nanboku.
