...First performed at Edo Ichimuraza in July 1808 (Bunka 5). Based on previous Joruri plays such as "Gion Festival Belief Record," "Mikka Taiheiki," and "Ehon Taikoki," this dramatized work (Taiko Kimono) focuses on the events leading up to Takechi Mitsuhide (Akechi Mitsuhide) killing his lord Oda Harunaga (Oda Nobunaga) at Honnoji Temple. The prologue has five scenes from the Gion Shrine worship hall to the banquet temporary palace, and in the banquet temporary palace scene, Mitsuhide becomes suspicious of the spider's behavior, and in the banquet temporary palace scene, Harunaga has Ranmaru split Mitsuhide's eyebrow with an iron fan.
