Panchaala (English spelling)

Japanese: パンチャーラ(英語表記)Pañcāla
Panchaala (English spelling)
The name of the Aryan tribes who lived in the central part of the Ganga-Yamuna region (Doāb) during the Late Vedic period (c. 1000 BC - c. 700-600 BC) in India, as well as their state and territory. Because of repeated wars and alliances with the Kuru tribe in the north, it is often written as Kuru-Panchala. Legend has it that the royal family of this country descended from the Bharata clan. King Pravāhana Jaivali, who came to this country, is known as a scholar of Upanishadic philosophy.
