Otavalo people

...The inhabitants called mestizo usually include pure Indians, and socially and racially, Ecuador, like Peru and Bolivia, is said to be a "country of Indians." There is a rich diversity of tribes, such as the Otavalo, known for their traditional crafts, the Colorado, known for their unique body decorations, and the Jivaro, also known as the headhunters. In addition to the official language, Spanish, Quechua is spoken in the mountainous rural areas, and indigenous languages ​​such as Jivaro and Saparo are spoken in the Amazon lowlands. These Indians make up the lowest class in society, and more than 60% of the mountain population is made up of small Indian farmers.
