Hekido Ozawa

Japanese: 小沢碧童 - おざわへきどう

1881-1941 A haiku poet from the Meiji to early Showa period.
Born November 14, 1881. He studied under Kawahigashi Hekigoto, and named his home in Kaminogishi, Tokyo, Kotsutachisha, and made it into a haiku training hall. He was active in the magazines "Nihon Haiku" and "Kaikou." He was also skilled in calligraphy and seal carving. He was friends with Akutagawa Ryunosuke. "Heidou Kushu" was published posthumously. He passed away on November 17, 1941, at the age of 61. He was from Tokyo. His real name was Chubei, and his other pen name was Heiko.

明治14年11月14日生まれ。河東碧梧桐(かわひがし-へきごとう)に師事し,東京上根岸の自宅を骨立舎と命名して俳道場とした。「日本俳句」「海紅」で活躍。書,篆刻(てんこく)にもすぐれていた。芥川竜之介と親交があった。没後「碧童句集」が刊行された。昭和16年11月17日死去。61歳。東京出身。本名は忠兵衛。別号に碧子。
