Okudosan - Okudosan

...There are legends about the Kamadogami being a fertile and ugly goddess, and she was originally thought to be a deity that should be worshipped by the housewife of the family. The name and way of worshiping the Kamadogami vary from place to place. In the Rikuzen region, she is worshipped by hanging a clay mask called Kamadobutsu or Kamadoto on a pillar next to the hearth, while in the Kinai region she is called Okudosan, with pine and sakaki trees offered on top of a normally unused cauldron. In the Chugoku region, Dokojin is called Dokusan or Rocksan, which is a mispronunciation, and she is worshipped by offering sakaki trees and five-colored flags to the main pillar.
