Pityrogramma (English spelling)

A genus of ornamental fern in the Capillaria family that is often cultivated in greenhouses. Well-known species include P. calomelanos var. aureoflava Wetherby (goldback fern) and P. argentea Mett. (silverback fern). All species have a flavonoid secretion powder on the underside of the leaves, and the powder comes in a variety of colors. 温室等でしばしば栽培されるホウライシダ科の観葉シダ植物の1属。キンシダP.calomelanos var.aureoflava Wetherby(英名goldback fern)，ギンシダP.argentea Mett.(英名silverback fern)等がよく知られる。いずれの種も，葉裏にフラボノイド系の分泌物である粉をもち，その粉の色が多彩である。原産地は中南米からアフリカにかけてで約40種あり，乾性地を好む。
