…Later, during the Jōkyū War, Emperor Gotoba's son, Prince Yorihito, was exiled to this area, and his five sons established five schools: Sontakuin, Taihōin, Kentokuin, Denpōin, and Hōonin. The descendants of these five schools were active around Shinkumano Gongen, and were known as the Kojima Goryū, Goryū Shugen, and Kugyo Yamabushi. The Kojima Goryū worshipped the three mountains of Hongū, Shingu, and Nachi in Kojima, in imitation of the three mountains of Kumano, and had a great influence within the Honzan Shugen school, bringing Kasumi to the Chugoku and Shikoku regions. …
