A character from the Joruri play "Kanadehon Chushingura."
The chief retainer of the Enya Hangan family, lord of the castle in Hakushu. He planned and directed the revenge of his lord, who was ordered to commit seppuku after a dispute with Takano Moronao, and ended up killing Moronao. This story was adapted from the revenge incident of the samurai of Ako Domain in Harima (Hyogo Prefecture) by the second Takeda Izumo, Miyoshi Shoraku, and Namiki Sosuke.

浄瑠璃(じょうるり)「仮名手本忠臣蔵」の登場人物。
伯州の城主塩冶判官(えんやはんがん)家の筆頭家老。高師直(こうの-もろなお)との争いから切腹を命じられた主君の仇(あだ)討ちを計画指揮し,師直を討ちとる。播磨(はりま)(兵庫県)赤穂(あこう)藩士の仇討ち事件をもとに2代竹田出雲(いずも),三好松洛(しょうらく),並木宗輔(そうすけ)が合作脚色した。
