A character from the Joruri play "Kanadehon Chushingura." The chief retainer of the Enya Hangan family, lord of the castle in Hakushu. He planned and directed the revenge of his lord, who was ordered to commit seppuku after a dispute with Takano Moronao, and ended up killing Moronao. This story was adapted from the revenge incident of the samurai of Ako Domain in Harima (Hyogo Prefecture) by the second Takeda Izumo, Miyoshi Shoraku, and Namiki Sosuke.
