[Otawara Castle Town]
A castle town in Nasu County, Shimotsuke Province, and a post station on the Oshu road. In 1545 (Tenbun 14), Otawara Sukekiyo built the castle on a hill on the right bank of the Sabi River, and became one of the Nasu clan's senior vassals, wielding great influence as one of their "Nasu Seven Riders."
