Kiriumi-chi - Mukaiji

Japanese: 霧海篪 - むかいぢ

The title of a classical Shakuhachi piece. The character "chi" in the title is a type of bamboo flute from ancient China. According to the Fuke sect, this piece is one of the oldest classical pieces, and together with "Kiyorei" and "Kokuu," it is one of the "Three Ancient Pieces (or the Three Void Spirits)" and is considered a secret piece that should be especially respected. The name of the piece varies slightly depending on the art school (school), and pieces with the same name are different pieces in different schools.

尺八楽古典本曲の曲名。曲名中〈篪（ち）〉とは古代中国の竹製の笛の一種を意味する字である。普化宗の所伝によれば，古典本曲中最古の曲の一つとされ，《虚鈴(霊)（きよれい）》《虚空（こくう）》とともに〈古伝三曲(または三虚霊)〉と呼ばれて，とくに尊重すべき秘曲とされている。曲の起源･伝説については《虚空》の項を参照されたい。芸系(流派)により曲名の呼び方に多少の差異があり，また，同名でも流派が異なれば異曲である。
