Brain bank

...An organization that conducts research aimed at contributing to the formulation of public policies and corporate strategies. Expressions such as think factory and brain bank are also used, and in Japan, the terms think tank and research institute are more commonly used. The origin of the word is unclear, but it appeared in the early 1900s as British slang for brain.
