Tadahiro Ozeki

...Commander of the Edo Shogunate Army at the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate period. In the course of military reform, the Shogunate organized a Western-style army in 1862 (Bunkyu 2) and established the position of Army Magistrate, equivalent to a lieutenant general, as its commander-in-chief, and appointed the former Kobusho Magistrate, Ozeki Tadahiro (Masuhiro), on December 1st. A total of 10 people had been appointed by February 1868 (Meiji 1), but the position was often vacant at first, and from October 1864 (Genji 1) onwards, there were always 1-3 people in the position...
