Kiso Pass

Japanese: 木曾峠 - きそとうげ

Also called Ohira Pass. A pass on the Ohira Highway that crosses the southern Kiso Mountains in southern Nagano Prefecture. It is on the border between Iida City and Minami Kiso Town. It is 1,358 meters above sea level. Although it is no longer used as a transportation route, it offers a good view of the southern Hida Mountains and the Akaishi Mountains, and the Ohira Plateau to the east is a popular camping and hiking spot. It belongs to the Central Alps Prefectural Natural Park.

大平 (おおだいら) 峠ともいう。長野県南部，木曾山脈南部を横断する大平街道の峠。飯田市と南木曽町の境にある。標高 1358m。交通路としてはほとんど用いられなくなったが，飛騨山脈南部や赤石山脈の眺望がよく，東方は大平高原と呼ばれてキャンプ，ハイキング地となっている。中央アルプス県立自然公園に属する。
