A town in Ako County, southwestern Hyogo Prefecture. Occupying the middle reaches of the Chikusa River, the main settlement developed as a river port for the distribution of agricultural products. The Sanyo Main Line runs through the town, and industries such as electrical engineering, concrete, and sewing are carried out here. Rice, vegetables, and fruit are also produced. 150.26 km2 .
