It is said that in the 29th year of the reign of Emperor Kinmei (568), the spirit of Emperor Ojin, who appeared as a great bodhisattva in Makimine, Usa County, Buzen Province (Oita Prefecture), was enshrined at Takai Hachiman Shrine (Usa City).
