[raw]? [Died] Kangxi 1 (1662) A military commander in the late Ming Dynasty in China. Born in Yan'an (Shaanxi Province). His original name was Rujing. His pen name was Ningyu. His title was Hongyuan. He was the adopted son of Zhang Xianzhong and one of his four generals. After Zhang's death, he served the Southern Ming Emperor Yongli (King Gui) and was made King of Jin. He fought against the Qing army in Hunan, Guangxi, and Yunnan, and was very active in the southwestern region for a time in response to Zheng Chenggong's anti-Qing and restoration of the Ming movement, but he died of an illness at the same time as the Yongli Emperor died.
