Japanese: 神岡[町] - かみおか

An old town in Yoshiki County in northern Gifu Prefecture. Funatsu, the town in the center, is a mining village in the Takahara River basin that runs through the Hida Mountains. It is home to the smelters and company housing of Mitsui Mining & Smelting's Kamioka Mine, which produces zinc, lead, and silver. The Kamioka Railway runs through the town. Nagareha Ski Resort and a campground are located in the west. In February 2004, it merged with Furukawa Town, Kawai Village, and Miyagawa Village in Yoshiki County to form Hida City. 310.36 ^km2 . Population: 11,266 (2003).

A former town in Senboku-gun, central Akita Prefecture. Located in the Yokote Basin in the middle reaches of the Omono River, Jinguji, the central area through which the Ou Main Line passes, flourished as a post station on the Ushu Kaido road and as a river port on the Omono River during the Edo period. The town is covered with extensive rice fields and also produces sake and soy sauce. In March 2005, it merged with Omagari City, Nishisenboku-cho, Nakasen-cho, Kyowa-cho, Senboku-cho, Ota-cho, and Minami-soto-mura in Senboku-gun to become Daisen City. 35.16 ^km2 . 6,190 people (2003).

秋田県中部，仙北郡の旧町。雄物(おもの)川中流域の横手盆地にあり，奥羽本線が通じる中心の神宮寺は江戸時代羽州街道の宿駅，雄物川の河港として栄えた。水田が広く，酒，醤油も産する。2005年３月大曲市，仙北郡西仙北町，中仙町，協和町，仙北町，太田町，南外村と合併し市制，大仙市となる。35.16km²。6190人（2003）。
