Monarchy Civitas

...the general term for a group of small tribes who spoke languages ​​belonging to the Indo-European language family. It is said that the language is closely related to the Celts and Italics. The origin of the name Germanic is unknown, but the word first appears in literature around 80 BCE in a record by the Greek historian Poseidonius, who described the invasion of Gaul by the small Germanic tribes Cimbri and Teutonicus at the end of the 2nd century BCE. However, there are some records of the Greek navigator Pytheas, who was in Massilia (Marseilles), at the end of the 4th century BCE when he traveled to Norway and the Jutland Peninsula, but the term Germanic was not yet used to refer to the people who lived there.
