A manor in Koga County, Omi Province. It corresponds to the area of present-day Kosei-cho and Ishibe-cho in Shiga Prefecture (both towns are now part of Konan City). It was inherited as the land of the regent family, and later as the land of the Konoe family. Saishoko-in in Kyoto was the head family's residence (later donated to Toji Temple in Kyoto), Shogo-in in Kyoto was the residence of the lord, and it was also the land of the Saito Shakado Hall of Enryaku-ji Temple and Daiji-in. The relationship with the regent family can be seen in the provision of food for the visit of the Fujiwara no Choja to the Kasuga Festival in 1062, and there is also an article about the procurement of a water bucket and ladle for the annual Tenchi Shihohai event, so it is likely that woodcutters and cypress craftsmen lived there. A list of the Konoe family's landholdings from 1253 shows that the Konoe family had actual control over the land with the right of administration. In 1325, the Saishokoin estate was required to pay the service of 10 soldiers (for April), and to pay 100 koku of annual tax, 140 rice cakes, and two layers of brocade headgear to Shogoin Palace. During the Nanboku-cho period, the estate was divided into Kami-Himomono-Sho and Shimo-Himomono-Sho, and the villages within the estate were considered temple land for Joraku-in, Shobodai-ji, Choju-ji, and other temples in Koga County. However, the samurai class also invaded the estate, with incidents such as the land steward Aoji-shi and others seizing the Saishokoin estate (around 1346-1370), the conflict between Rokkaku Ujiyori and Nikki Yoshinaga over the estate (around 1359), and Ashikaga Yoshimitsu granting the position of Geshitadokoro to Ginaga Ujihide (1385). From 1558 to 1565, Shimohimonosho was involved in a dispute with Ishibe Sango over the irrigation of the Yasu River. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
