Japanese: 論理回路 - ろんりかいろ

A general term for circuits that have the function of logically processing coded digital information. It is designed with logical algebra as its basic theory. Boolean algebra was first proposed in 1847 by British mathematician Boole as a type of symbolic logic that mathematically analyzes logic, but in 1938 Shannon proposed its application to the logic circuits of automatic switches and computers. The calculation circuits of today's digital computers are basically composed of logic circuits. The values handled in logical algebra are true and false, which are represented by 0 and 1, and circuits are created by corresponding these 0 and 1 to the on-off of contacts, the presence or absence of pulses, etc. There are three types of operations handled in logical algebra: logical sum, logical product, and negation. Logic circuits include logical sum circuits, logical product circuits, and negation circuits that realize these logical operations for 1 bit of information, and these are called logic (operation) elements. Logic circuits, no matter how complex their logical functions, are constructed from these logic elements, flip-flop circuits, and delay circuits as basic elements.

符号化されたデジタルな情報を論理的に処理する機能をもつ回路の総称。論理代数を基礎理論として設計される。論理代数（ブール代数）は1847年に英国の数学者ブールが論理を数学的に解析する記号論理学の一種として提案したのに始まるが，1938年にシャノンが自動交換機や計算機の論理回路に適用することを提唱。今日のデジタル型コンピューターの計算回路は基本的に論理回路として構成されている。論理代数で扱う値は真と偽の２値であり，これを０と１で表し，この０と１とを接点の断続，パルスの有無などに対応させて回路を作る。論理代数で扱う演算の種類は論理和，論理積，否定の３種類であるが，論理回路には１ビットの情報についてこれらの論理演算を実現する論理和回路，論理積回路，否定回路があり，これらは論理（演算）素子の名で呼ばれている。論理回路はどのような複雑な論理的機能をもつものでも，これらの論理素子とフリップフロップ回路と遅延回路とを基本要素として組み立てられている。
