〘 noun 〙 A bridge built in Edo at the expense of the shogunate during the Edo period. In Osaka, it was called Kogibashi. In Edo, there were about 120 bridges, including bridges inside and outside the castle, Ryogokubashi, Shin-Ohashi, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi.
