Chōbiroku - Chohiroku

Japanese: 懲毖録 - ちょうひろく

A book from the late 16th century in Korea. The author is Ryu Seong-ryong. As the author was directly involved in the Imjin-Jeongyu War (the Bunroku-Keicho War), he details the course of the war, the activities of the righteous soldiers, relations with the Ming army, and the personalities of Yi Sun-sin and others, based on his own experiences, as a warning to future generations. Written in 1598, it is believed to have first been published in 1633 (included in the "Seigaishu" collection). It was also published in Japan by Yamatoya in Kyoto in 1695, and there are modern translations, including an annotated version by Park Jong-myeong. [Yazawa Kosuke]

朝鮮，16世紀末の書。著者は柳成竜。壬辰･丁酉倭乱(文禄･慶長の役)の過程を，戦争の様相，義兵の活躍，明軍との関係，李舜臣らの人物像などについて，直接の担当者であった著者が，体験をもとに後世へのいましめとして詳述している。1598年の作で，初刊は1633年(《西厓集》に収録)と推定される。日本でも1695年に京都大和屋から刊行，現代語訳は朴鍾鳴訳注本などがある。【矢沢康祐】
