Enemy

Japanese:
Enemy
Aesthetic sense in the late Edo period. Shikitei Sanba was the first to use the Chinese word "na," which describes the suppleness and grace of a woman's figure, for "aku," which means infidelity or sexiness. This word was then widely used in Tamenaga Shunsui's human interest stories to describe the somewhat decadent sensual beauty of women in the Edo downtown area. When the "courage" and "tension" that support the aesthetics of "iki" begin to slacken, the beauty of "ada" overflows. [Maeda Ai]
