Emi - Emi

A district in the southern part of Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture. Formerly Emi Town. The JR Uchibo Line passes through the area, as does National Route 128. With the Boso Hills to the north and the farmland facing the Pacific Ocean, it is warm even in winter, making it the center of floriculture in the outer Boso region. In winter, marigolds, rape blossoms, stocks, carnations, and other flowers bloom in the open fields, but in recent years, there has been an increase in forced cultivation in vinyl greenhouses. In addition to winter flower tourists, there are also many summer beachgoers.

千葉県鴨川市(かもがわし)南部の一地区。旧江見町。JR内房(うちぼう)線が通じ、国道128号が走る。房総丘陵を北に背負い、太平洋に面する畑地は冬でも暖かく、外房の花卉栽培(かきさいばい)の中心地域をなす。冬季に露地のキンセンカ、菜の花、ストック、カーネーションなどが咲き乱れるが、近年ではビニルハウスによる促成栽培も増えている。冬のフラワー観光客のほか、夏の海水浴客も多い。
