Kanze Motomasa
1930-1990 A shite Noh actor from the Showa era.
Born on July 25, 1930. In 1936, he was adopted by the 24th head of the Kanze family, Kanze Sakon. In 1949, he succeeded the 25th head of the family after the sudden death of his adoptive father, and studied under Kanze Kasetsu. After the war, he resolved the dispute between the Kanze and Umewaka families that had existed since the Meiji period. He worked to unify the school and popularize Noh, and built the Kanze Noh Theater in 1972. In 1988, he took on the family name of Sakon. He passed away on August 26, 1990. He was 60 years old. He was born in Tokyo. His maiden name was Fujita.

昭和5年7月25日生まれ。昭和11年宗家24代観世左近の養子となる。14年養父の急逝で宗家25代をつぎ,観世華雪に師事。戦後,明治以来の観世・梅若家の争いを解決。流内の統一,能の大衆化に力をいれ,47年観世能楽堂を新築した。63年家名左近を襲名。平成2年8月26日死去。60歳。東京出身。旧姓は藤田。
