Japanese: 商業立地 - しょうぎょうりっち（英語表記）commercial location

It refers to the occupation of a specific spatial location where commercial operations such as wholesale and retail businesses can be advantageously carried out. In this case, it does not simply refer to the location of a store or other business in the narrow sense of a point, but also includes the entire spatial extent of the region that the location affects. Stores receive different advantageous conditions from the environment depending on their location, and the environmental conditions of the location are called location conditions. Location conditions include the social and economic characteristics of the city to which the store or other business belongs, the state of commercial accumulation, the population, household size and purchasing power of the hinterland, the living conditions and purchasing habits of consumers, the competitive situation, traffic and road conditions, natural and climatic conditions, and future development plans for the city and land.

卸売業や小売業などの商業経営を有利に成立させうる，ある特定の空間的な場所の占有をいう。この場合，単に店舗などの位置という狭い意味での点としての所在を示すだけでなく，その場所が影響を受ける地域空間的な広がり全体を含めていう。店舗はその場所のいかんによって，環境から受ける条件の有利さが異なり，その場所の環境条件を立地条件という。立地条件は，その店舗などの所属する都市の社会的･経済的特性，商業集積の状態，後背地の人口･世帯規模および消費購買力，消費者の生活条件や購買慣習，競争の状況，交通や道路の事情，自然や気候的条件，都市や土地の将来開発計画などである。
