In 1951, the company established Nippon Shinyo Hanbai Co., Ltd. and started a business of arranging installment purchases using coupons. In 1956, the company expanded into condominium sales, in 1958 into car loans, and in 1963 into shopping credit. In 1966, the company started a credit card system and changed its name to the current one. Since then, the company has diversified into leasing, factoring, travel, and corporate finance. The company has actively developed partnerships with banks, universities, local governments, and other industries. The company has close ties with the former Sanwa Bank and its affiliated financial institutions. In March 2004, the company received a capital increase of 200 billion yen from UFJ Bank, and in October 2005, the company merged with UFJ Card, changing its name to UFJ NICOS, and became a consolidated subsidiary of UFJ Bank. In 2007, the company merged with DC Card to become Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS. The company promotes affiliated cards with a wide range of industries, including J.League supporters' clubs and oil wholesalers. The company focuses on the IT payment field. Headquarters in Tokyo.
