[Biological reactions caused by fatigue]
From the viewpoint of viewing fatigue as a general phenomenon of biological defense, that is, the maintenance of homeostasis between the external environment surrounding humans and the living body, there are several theories about the mechanism of fatigue occurrence. These include the lactic acid fatigue theory and the energy depletion theory regarding muscle fatigue. (1) Lactic acid fatigue theory This theory is based on the inhibitory effect of lactic acid on muscle contraction, and posits that when muscles are repeatedly exercised without being supplied with oxygen, the amount of lactic acid in the muscles increases, and when it reaches a certain amount, the muscles become rigid and can no longer move.
