Geiger-Nuttall's law

Japanese: ガイガー＝ヌッタルの法則 - ガイガー＝ヌッタルのほうそく（英語表記）Geiger-Nuttall's law

This law states that when a nuclide belonging to a radioactive decay series undergoes alpha decay, the relationship between the decay constant λ and the distance (range) R that the alpha particle travels before stopping in the air is log λ = A + B log R ( A and B are constants specific to each series). It was discovered by H. Geiger and J. Nuttall in 1911. This law was explained as the tunnel effect by G. Gamow, EU Condon, and R.W. Gurney.
