Egmont Overture

... The Moonlight Sonata was performed at the concert of the Tokyo Music School Graduates Association in 1996. The Egmont Overture (included in the Music for Plays, Op. 84) was performed by the Army Band at the third concert at Hibiya Park Music Hall in 1905. Although there are some small performance records like those mentioned above, Beethoven's symphonies and piano sonatas were difficult for Japanese people to perform during the Meiji and early Taisho periods, so there were few opportunities to hear them.
