…The Paleo-Indian culture is dated to the Upper Pleistocene and the beginning of the Alluvial Epoch, and is broadly divided into the Pre-Projectile Point culture, the Projectile Point culture, and the Paleo-Arctic culture, based on differences in stone tool production techniques and associated fauna. The Pre-Projectile Point culture is characterized by crude flake stone tools and pebble tools, and is represented by the Pacaycasa culture and the Ayacucho culture in Peru, and is dated to 14,000 to 15,000 years ago. This culture is said to represent the earliest human migration to the New World, but there are mixed opinions about this interpretation. …
