Schlafsack - Schlafsack (English spelling) German

A portable sleeping bag used mainly for mountain climbing. In Japan, it is simply called a sleeping bag or a sleeping bag. In English, it is called a sleeping bag. It is made by sewing cloth into a bag shape and filling it with insulation. There are cylindrical and envelope types. In the past, silk batting was sometimes used as insulation, but now feathers such as goose down and various synthetic cotton are used. Depending on the amount of insulation, they are classified as summer, winter, high altitude climbing, etc. The entrance is opened and closed with a drawstring or a zipper. There are lightweight half-body types that can be used in combination with down clothing for advanced alpinists, but they are not used often. It is effective to use a cover in addition to keep warm and waterproof, and for convenience, it can be used as sleeping equipment by itself.
