...The largest irrigation canal in the Arakawa River system in northwest Saitama Prefecture. It is also known as the Rokuseki Canal, because the headworks of six canals, Nara, Tamai, Oaso, Narita, Mishou, and Yoshimi, built up and down the Arakawa River by the Keicho era (1596-1615), were joined in 1929-39. The intake point is on the north bank of the Arakawa River, in front of Nagata in Hanazono Village, Osato County, and the canals of Mishou and Yoshimi, two of the six canals, are siphoned through the Arakawa Riverbed at Aketo in Kawamoto Village, Osato County, and directed to the opposite bank towards Osato Village. *Some of the terminology used to refer to "Oasaoi Weir" is listed below.
