Egil's Saga is a record of the turbulent life of four generations of the family of Egil, who is considered the greatest hero and poet of medieval Iceland, beginning with his grandfather, and is interspersed with Egil's most representative poems. Grettir's Saga tells the story of the silent, rough, and quarrelsome brave Grettir, who is plagued by misfortune and lives in exile until he is attacked by pursuers and meets a gruesome death.
