...His Sanskrit Reader (1845) was unrivaled in its selection and composition of the original texts, and his Pānini Grammar (1887), which he published with a translation of Pānini's grammar, became the starting point for Pānini studies. His Indian Proverbs (3 volumes, 1870-78) collected about 7,500 Sanskrit proverbs, and his Kabyādarsha (1890) teaches the basics of classical Indian rhetoric. With these achievements, he made groundbreaking contributions to the study of classical Indian texts.
