Agro Town

Agro Town

...The coastal plains are characterized by intensive agriculture based on the cultivation of fruit trees such as olives, grapes, and citrus fruits, while inland areas extensive grain cultivation and sheep farming have been carried out under a system of large landholdings (latifondos).
[Characteristics of society: agro-towns and large landholdings]
Inland areas have a form of concentrated settlement known as agro-towns, where all the residents of a village usually live on a small hill. Around the church, village hall, and square are the mansions of the influential people, and further on are the shops and peasant houses, giving the area an overall town-like atmosphere.
