A state in New England, in the northeastern corner of the United States. Abbreviated as ME. An extension of the Appalachian Mountains, it has many mountains and hills. There are many glacial lakes and moraine hills caused by ice erosion, and the Atlantic coast is rich in complex inlets and outlets. Potatoes are an important agricultural product, but in recent years chicken farming has developed, and broiler and egg production has increased. Blueberries and apples are also produced in abundance.
