Also called the forging section, ironwork section, or goldwork section. An abbreviation of "Kaneuchibe." There were the original Yamato forge section (Yamato no Kanuchibe) and the Korean forge section (Kara no Kanuchibe) of immigrants. From early on, they belonged to the Yamato Imperial Court and made copper and iron miscellaneous items, but after the Taika period (645-650), they belonged to the Imperial Household Ministry's blacksmith office (Kanuchishi) and were called Kanuchibe, and in 808 (Daido 3), their affiliation changed when the blacksmith office was merged with the woodworking office (Mokuryo). At the beginning of the 8th century, there were 338 households. At the beginning of the 10th century, there were a total of 372 households in Heian-kyo, Kinai, and Kinki provinces (Iga, Ise, Omi, Harima, and Kii).
