Urabandai Three Lakes - Urabandaisanko

...This lake is located on the border between Inawashiro Town and Kitashiobara Village in Yama County, Fukushima Prefecture. It is one of the three Urabandai (Hibara) lakes, along with Hibara Lake and Onogawa Lake. In 1888, a mudflow caused by a major eruption of Mt. Bandai buried the Akimoto village, located near the entrance to the Nakatsugawa Valley, and dammed the Okura River valley, flooding the lake, and the lake shoreline is complex.
