〘Noun〙① Under the Ritsuryo system, these were members of the left and right horse bureaus and were in charge of taking care of the horses. They were on guard duty above the households that raised the horses (the households that raised the horses). Each had a capacity of 60 people. At the end of the Heian period, they were stationed in the Imperial Court and also served as guards. ※Ryo Gikai (718) Officials "60 Horsemen" ② An abbreviation of "Mebu (Horsemen) no Tsukasa".
