Udmurt - Udmurt (English spelling) Удмурт/Udmurt

It is a Finno-Ugric language of the Uralic language family, and is spoken in the Republic of Udmurtia, located on the west bank of the Kama River, a tributary of the eastern Volga River in Russia. It has a speaker population of about 747,000. It calls itself Udmurt, but has also been called Votyak. Together with Komi, it forms the Permian language. Phonetically, Udmurt has five vowels [i, e, a, o, u], as well as the central vowels ï [ɨ] and ë [ə]. Morphologically, nouns change into 15 cases and have possessive endings. Verbs change according to person, number, and tense. nïl lïd´d´ž´e kniga-ez. "A girl is reading a book."

ウラル語族のフィン・ウゴル語派に属する言語で、ロシア連邦のボルガ川東の支流カマ川の西岸にあるウドムルチア共和国で話されている。言語人口約74万7000。ウドムルト語が自称だが、ボチャーク語Votyakともよばれてきた。コミ語とともにペルム語を形成する。ウドムルト語には、音声的に5母音［i, e, a, o, u］のほかに中舌母音ï［ɨ］とë［ə］がある。形態的に名詞は15格に変化し、所有語尾をもつ。動詞は人称と数で時制により変化する。nïl lïd´d´ž´e kniga-ez.「少女が・読んでいる・本を」。
