U-Tsang dialect - U-Tsang dialect

...the language of the Tibetan people living in the Tibetan (Xizang) Autonomous Region (capital Lhasa) of the People's Republic of China, Qinghai Province, western Sichuan Province, southern Gansu Province, northern Yunnan Province, and the Himalayan regions of Bhutan, Nepal, and India. In Tibetan (Lhasa dialect), it is called Pukébod skad (Romanization is generally a romanization of the Tibetan script). Pukébod means "Tibet" and Késkad means "language." The Balti language of the Kashmir region and Baluchistan region of Pakistan is also recognized as a dialect of Tibetan.
