Masanobu Uchida

Japanese: 内田正信 - うちだ まさのぶ
Masanobu Uchida
1613-1651 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
He was born in 1615. In 1620 he became a personal attendant to the shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu. In 1633 he became the head clerk of the page group. In 1656 he became the first head of the Uchida clan to rule Kanuma Domain in Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture) and was awarded a stipend of 15,000 koku. He committed suicide when Iemitsu died on April 20, 1661. He was 39 years old. He was commonly known as Gonkuro.

慶長18年生まれ。寛永7年将軍徳川家光の近侍となる。16年小姓組番頭(ばんがしら)。慶安2年下野(しもつけ)(栃木県)鹿沼(かぬま)藩主内田家初代となり,1万5000石をあたえられた。4年4月20日家光死去のとき殉死した。39歳。通称は権九郎。
