〘Noun〙 A type of oxcart . It has a large overall box shape, a karamune roof, karabisashi (traditional Chinese sash) , and the roof is thatched with betel leaves. Betel leaves are also hung in tassels from the eaves and waist, and even the blinds and lower curtains are beautifully decorated. Betel leaves are sometimes replaced with dyed thread. Also called an itoge carriage, this is the most ornate style. Used on special occasions by the retired emperor, empress, crown prince, empress associate, prince, or regent. Karabisashi. 〘名〙牛車(ぎっしゃ)の一種。箱を総体に大きく、屋形を唐棟(からむね)に作り、唐びさしを出し、屋根を檳榔(びろう)の葉で葺(ふ)き、廂、腰などにも檳榔の葉を総(ふさ)に垂らし、簾、下簾に至るまで美しく飾る。また、檳榔を染糸に代えることもある。糸毛(いとげ)の車とも呼んで、最も華美な様式とする。太上天皇、皇后、東宮、准后、親王または摂関などの晴れの時の乗用。からびさし。からびさしの車。からの車。からの御車。※枕（１０Ｃ終）二七八「一の御車はから車なり」
