A color that is not very strong, nor deep (Nippo Jisho (1603-04)). ※Shunmu-sou (1515-16) Hokku "Wisteria waves, pale colors, summer trees along the way." ⑤ A type of shredded tobacco favored by high-ranking courtesans in Yoshiwara and other places during the Edo period. ※Sakehon Kuritite Kagami (1793) "I put a pale-colored tobacco in my tobacco case and took it out." ⑥ A camellia with pale pink flowers.
